I started watching Ikkitousen Dragon Destiny... The sixth episode is the lastest episode so far...
It is about Toushis or fighters whose destinies are from the characters from the romance of
three kingdoms. It is depicted in a modern japanese high school time. It seems these high
school students do nothing but fight, they don't study at all! Even if they are in school!
Exception to Koukin who does homework at home. What kind of homework could that be?!
D'uh?!
So watching the anime series made me fell in love with Kanu Unchou a.k.a. the ever so proud,
undefeated, afraid of wearing too much clothing, and huge metal GuanDao wielding hot sexy
lady with huge and perfect boobs. I am girl but i really love her! Is that weird? I don't have any
boob/booty fetish, but (damn!) her body is so hot *dying with envy* and her style is soo super
cool! She just got the awesome qualities and everything I would die to have! Great body, great
fighting skillz, great traits.
She is loyal, which is what i also love about her, to Ryuubi, who is their lousy bookworm
supposedly leader, but so far Kanu does all the leading. There is a little hint of Kanu actually
liking Ryuubi, because only Ryuubi makes "THE Kanu Unchou" BLUSH! Okay! So its another
yuri pair or not, because it was also hinted that in the romance of three kingdoms, Kanu liked
Ryuubi but it didn't and most probably won't reciprocate.
I liked Kanu in the first season, just because she had a bad girl appearance and she is the ONLY
one who wields a super cool traditional weapon. Unfortunately she didn't get so much screen
time; I especially love her fight with Ryomou. In Dragon Destiny a lot of weapon weilding fighters
comes out. For example, the girl who never open her eyes, Shiryu wields a Jian which is a
straight sword, but it looks like a katana, because Jian a double edge sword. Also a new weapon
wielding character a goth loli mad assasin middle schooler, archer and musician or so i thought
she was, Teni.
How they made Kanu the over the top, A-class, top notch, mad fighter is what really amuses me.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the designers of Kanu and to say a job done great!
According to someone, she was based on Tifa Lockheart in Final Fantasy. Oh my! Another
character I like! Makes me more obsess with Kanu!
Anyways, her character is basically Guan Yu in Romance of three kingdom. Guan Yu is a
boddhisatva or bodhisattva which means an enlightened being who, out of compassion,
forgoes nirvana in order to save others.
Well, I am not so sure how he became such a deity but he is also well known as Guan kong, the
red face, long beard general wielding the legendary Blue Dragon Crescent Blade. So I can
conclude he is quite the conspicuous fellow in some temples. That's what i know but I also did
a little research you can check it out below.
Guan Yu (died 219) Military hero of the Three Kingdoms era (3rd century AD) who started his
career as the bodyguard of Liu Bei (Ryuubi), the founder of one of the three kingdoms. He was
captured and executed but his fame and popularity continued to grow. China's rulers conferred
ever greater titles on him until in 1594 he was canonized as Guan Di, god of war and protector of
China. Thousands of temples were constructed in his honor. His cult spread to Korea in the 17th
century, where it was believed that he saved the country from Japanese invasion.
Obviously, this undefeated general is a man, but in Ikkitousen He is a She. This general basically
is the epitome of loyalty and righteousness. She also got a few titles one of them is "Warrior
Goddess". It was mentioned by an egg head old dude whom she fought proudly with sweat,
drool and tears in episode 6. Although her haggard appearance, I still love her!
I have gathered and read a lot of information on Kanu and the others, mostly on Kanu, so I am
quite confuse so I don't know whether the things I am saying are facts or fiction. Some analysis
and realizations are also based on my stock knowledge on buddhism, taoism, high school
chinese story lectures and observations of different shrines I have visited. I am thankful I
listened to my HS CHinese teacher on some of the short story lectures of the romance of the
three kingdoms we encountered in our textbooks. *bows to Chen LaoShi*
We also encountered the story of LuMeng who in Ikkitousen is Ryomou, my first season favorite
character maybe because of her eye patch I am not so sure. It was about LuMeng being an all
out military strategist general and is stupid in academic and intellecual stuff. SunQuan (Hakufu)
told him to make time to read books so he could balance himself. Eventually he meets up with
another general and he impressed the other general with his new smart speech and outlook.
The saying "to look at some one with a new eye" or something that runs like that was
popularize. According to what I read, it might be the reason why they designed Ryomou with an
eye patch. *wink*
Ikkitousen Dragon Destiny compared to the first one is better in all aspects, quality wise, plot
wise, character deisgn wise, fighting styles and weapons wise and of course fan service wise. I
don't hate the superfluous panty shots, the super clothes shredding/explosive chi effects or the
boobs and nipples extra shots, but it does irritate me a tiny bit. I like the action and fighting
styles. I have to admit I feel a little let down with Ryomou's wrestling moves in the first season,
because she is all close proximity attacks; Nevertheless I accept it already. It is because the all
perfect Kanu is star of the show! By the way, if you don't know the one who supposedly defeats
Kanu is Ryomou. *gasp*
In conclusion, Kanu is damn precious! I am so obsess with her. I expect Ikkitousen Dragon
Destiny to be an awesome anime and maybe one of my all time favorites! *two thumbs up*
